                                      Jr. Tennis Teams forming now for Summer

 

 

 

Text Box: The Jackson County Community Tennis Association is once again sponsoring a Summer Team Tennis League for Junior Players.   We would like to get the players registered on their respective teams by May 15 so that we can begin play the week of May 31.  If your child played last year, the format will be the same.  Each team will consist of a roster of boys and girls, up to 16 players per team.  Each match will include a Boys Singles, Girls Singles, Boys Doubles, Girls Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.   There will be 4 Divisions this year - U10, U12, U14 and a U18 Division.  These are designated by the Jr. Team Tennis program through the USTA regulations.  Our league will include as many matches as we possibly can schedule for our Juniors, but we would like to have a minimum of 6 matches per team.  Those teams that win their division at the local level will have a chance to advance to the State Tournament in Jackson July 25-26.  State winners will advance to the Regional Tournament in Mobile.  Teams will be forming at the local tennis clubs across the coast again so you may want to check with the club pros to see if there is already someone willing to captain a team at the club.  As for the registration process, I will register the kids with completed registration forms OR the captain's themselves can register their team players.  Either way, it's just a matter of going on line to Tennislink. We hope your children consider joining a team again this year.  Also, I would appreciate your help in spreading the word to as many parents and players as possible.  Please pass this along to anyone who might be interested.  To register for a Jr. Tennis Team or for more information, contact Cynthia Render Leach or Steve Pennington at 875-5701.

Text Box: The Jackson County Community Tennis Association is truly focused on providing more programs for Juniors. So along with the Summer Jr. Team Tennis program, we plan to continue offering other  programs throughout the year.  Our funding to sponsor programs in the community comes from the USTA, so your registration will come back to you in your community through more programs.  We welcome any ideas or suggestions you may have with what you would like to see offered to your children on the tennis courts.
